Dear Miss Behaved:
Many sincere sales people have advised me that the right swimsuit size for
me is a size larger than my dress size. I worked very hard to be the dress
size I am, its depressing to have to jump up a size in the swimsuit
department and its not even my fault. In fact, I dont like
buying swimsuits for that reason. Doesnt this sound as if the swimsuit
manufacturers are being Miss Behaved?
Signed,
Wrong parts being Squeezed Together
Dear Squeezed:
No, the swimsuit manufacturers are just being short sighted, if not short
waisted. If the swimsuit industry were interested in actually selling more
than one swimsuit per woman, per painful season, swimsuits would be manufactured
to be two sizes larger than your dress size. In other words, if a woman wears
a size 12 dress, then she would require a swimsuit in a size 8. Most Miss
Behaved shoppers would buy many suits of that size and wear them inside out
to show off the label.
With this new system in place, women would look forward to purchasing swimsuits
since no matter what they acquired during the holidays and a long cozy winter
with big helpings of everything, the swim suit size would have only increased
by one size and she is still only a 10 which is far less than the size 14
dress she had to purchase for the office party. She would buy three size
10 swimsuits just to prove she hadnt gained too much weight.
Miss Behaved pundits are surprised that no one in the swimsuit industry has
conducted any marketing surveys or studies to discover this large point.
What would it take to make this prediction? "In the future I see larger
size swimsuits being sold to the fifty percent of the population that is
overweight according to one chart or another."
Certainly there should be at least one swimsuit company who could figure
this out, create the suits and make a killing. Unless there is a larger Miss
Behaved conspiracy having to do with the supply of spandex and misogyny.

Dear Miss Behaved
What is the best kind of Miss Behaved swimsuit?
Signed,
Searching.
Dear Searching:
The best Miss Behaved swimsuits are labeled" dry clean only".
Dear Miss Behaved:
Is it Miss Behaved to shop for a swimsuit while surreptitiously munching on
a bag of Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies hidden in her purse?
Signed,
Naked but Happy
Dear Satisfied:
Of course, since often the only thing that fits perfectly in the dressing room
is the cookie in your hand.
